As seen from half asleep on couch...

Touch Winkle

So there it is...before. This was about an hour or so before the situation that made next picture possible.
And there it is...One day later. The three 'cuts' on Steffen's head were made from the heating vent in the floor. He took a pretty good fall from a wooden bench. I was standing right there. I will never forgive myself for not being able to catch him. It looks pretty good now, but last night it was purple and swollen and scary.

So Todd is going off on another trip. But he wouldn't leave without throwing a party would he? Naahh...
It was a great party full of people I hadn't seen for some time (parenting keeps me well out of the loop). The great part about this group of friends is that we could go weeks, months, years without seeing each other and still be able to catch up in a few minutes and have a great time together. I took as many pictures as I could while trying to catch up with as many people as possible. You can see more pictures by clicking here.
OK, more about the party. I gather that I was probably the most sober person at the party, so I think I have a pretty good idea of what was happening. When I first arrived (at almost 11pm) Paul was the DJ and he had the party rockin with lots of old school favorites and fun tunes. Before long, however (I'll assume as the mushrooms kicked in for those who ingested them) the crazy organ in the corner of the living room overpowered the music coming from the DJ mind of Paul. This partially sent the party into the jamming tailspin that anyone could've guessed would occur at a party of Todd's. I was partially to blame as I love Todd's Fender and played a bit.
After that point there were quite a few jams, but one of the best moments was when Paul was wowing the partiers with Pixie songs (thanks for the backing vocals James, that shit was hilarious). Paul also rocked into AC/DC tunes and really lightened up the party with some fun guitar music. Paul, by the way, has got to be one of the funniest fucking people alive. He also impressed a small group of partiers with his "How I make my first impression" stories.
Before long there were more jams and towards the end of the night when only a few people were left Todd picked up his bass and joined in on some jams that were really great. I don't get to play with him as often as I'd like, but I'll take what I can get when I can get it. He's a pretty generous jammer as he was happy to back me up on a blues tune that I mostly stole from Howling Wolf. Thanks dude!
When it finally came down to it, I was the last person left and therefore I declared myself the winner of the party. At 2:30am everyone was either asleep or on their way home, so Todd and I burned one for the road and I lost my harmonica.
Have a great time, Todd (and check yer fucking e-mail and reply to it!)!
